Vonona Project - Upcycled Hygiene Kits Empowers Girls To Stay In School
12-11-2021

Many households in developing countries like Madagascar are unable to afford the purchase of menstrual products because they are expensive.

As a result, many girls stay at home from school during their periods and miss up to 20% of their education.

In order to remedy to this situation, the TROPIC team came up with the VONONA PROJECT

What is it all about?

Together with Axian Foundation, the team designed hygienic menstrual kits which are:

100% Cotton
Ultra-Absorbent
Soft & Comfortable
Easy to wash & Reusable
Environmental Friendly

As such, 6000 cloth pads were produced and distributed to 800 young adolescents in Antananarivo in July 2021.

Let’s walk towards a better tomorrow.

Stay tuned to know our next step.
